The recruitment process for the regional representatives on the International Advisory Board of CAN was completed successfully
On the 9-12th September 2024, CBR Africa network held the 7th CBR/CBID Africa conference that took place at the Imperial resort beach hotel Entebbe, Uganda. During which the General Assembly was conducted on the 11th and 12th/9/2024 where members agreed to have five regional representatives for
the International Advisory Board from the five regions of Africa who will join another four members to form the International Advisory Board of CAN. This is one of the changes to the constitution. This followed a recruitment process in order to fill up the five positions. This report covers the details of the
recruitment process including the objective of the recruitment process, call for applications, selection process, confirmation of the regional representatives and conclusion as follows;
Objective of the process
The overall objective of the recruitment process was to fill up the five positions on the CAN International Advisory Board.
Call for applications
The process started with developing an application form which was later sent out on 4th/12/2024 using the digital platforms of CAN including MailChimp, X handle, Facebook, website and on all the WhatsApp platforms where applicants were encouraged to first register as CAN members for them to apply
and in that regard a link to register as a CAN member was shared. Applicants had to fill in the application form in addition to attaching a one-page maximum `motivation letter and a one-page maximum letter of support from their respective organizations and submit to CAN secretariat at info@afri-can.org with copies to the CAN chairperson on dibassiwena.adjayi@gmail.com not later than 17/January/2025.
The call for applications attracted a total of 40 applicants including; 38 from the five regions of Africa and two from outside Africa. Among the ones from Africa included; 17 from East Africa, 2 from North Africa, 7 from West Africa, 4 from Central Africa and 8 from Southern Africa.
