CBR Africa Network Engages Youth with Disabilities to Inform a Continental Engagement Strategy
The CBR Africa Network (CAN) successfully conducted consultative meetings with Youth with Disabilities at Kyambogo University and Makerere University Business School (MUBS) as part of the ongoing process of developing CAN’s Youth with Disabilities Engagement Strategy.
The consultations provided an important platform for youth with disabilities to share their lived experiences, perspectives, and recommendations on strengthening disability inclusion across Africa. Participants emphasized the need to remove systemic barriers, strengthen the capacity of key stakeholders, and promote accessible digital platforms to ensure that youth with disabilities are meaningfully included in development processes.
These discussions generated valuable insights that will guide the development of a responsive and inclusive engagement strategy aimed at amplifying the voices of youth with disabilities and promoting their active participation in decision-making processes.
As part of this initiative, CAN invites young persons with disabilities from across Africa and beyond to contribute their ideas on how the network can better engage and support them. Interested participants are encouraged to share their views through the following link.
Submissions are open until April 2026.
CBR Africa Network remains committed to advancing disability inclusion and ensuring that no one is left behind.
