World Health Organization Ukraine
On 14-15 February, the World Health Organization Ukraine conducted the First Ukraine Rehabilitation in Healthcare Forum meeting in a hybrid format in Kyiv, Ukraine, to provide a consolidated overview of envisioned rehabilitation priorities, informed by the local context and the vision of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, to reach the overall goal of delivering quality rehabilitation service in Ukraine for all those in need.
It was conducted together with national and international partners, and where key rehabilitation stakeholders shared the best available evidence and resources that inform the emergency, recovery, and development efforts in Ukraine.
WHO Ukraine convened rehabilitation stakeholders under one consolidated platform to coordinate rehabilitation actions in the most efficient and effective way. The forum collectively addresses the diverse needs of the rehabilitation system and, in doing so, improves access to rehabilitation services for Ukrainian people.
During the forum:
🔸 the links between stakeholders and a framework for efficient coordination and operational approaches among partners were established;
🔹 key results of the 2024 WHO rehabilitation systems assessment and implications for actors in 2025-2027 were presented;
🔸 a technical framework to support national and international actors on their planning and resource mobilization activities was provided;
🔹 lessons learned from the first year of clinical rehabilitation multidisciplinary training Centres of Excellence were shared.
Among the participants of the forum were the representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the Office of the President of Ukraine, the National Health Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, international organizations, donors, rehabilitation professionals’ organizations, universities, rehabilitation facilities, clinical trainers` teams from rehabilitation Centers of Excellence, healthcare professionals, departments of healthcare of oblast military administrations.
