
Ms Sesele Abram
Ms Sesele Abram is a Motswana professional with over 20 years of progressive work experience in disability services and social work. Currently, she serves as the Deputy Director of the Disability Support Services Unit at the University of Botswana in Gaborone, a position she has held since 2011.
In this role, she is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and developing strategies and policies that promote equity, diversity, and inclusivity for students with disabilities. She holds a Master of Science in Community Disability Studies from the University College London (2003), a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Botswana (1997), and a Certificate in Planning and Management of Community-Based Rehabilitation Programmes from the International Institute for Rehabilitation Management in France (1998).
Her career has been driven by a passion for community outreach and supporting marginalized groups. With extensive experience in institutional care, rehabilitation, and collaboration with government and non-governmental organizations, she is deeply committed to advancing the goals of Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) and Community-Based Inclusive Development (CBID).
Her work at the University of Botswana has equipped her with the skills to advocate for inclusive education and provide services that meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities. She has recently been appointed a board member of the International Advisory Board, representing Southern Africa Region and is eager to contribute to the CBR Africa Network (CAN) International Advisory Board, driven by her commitment to inclusion, equity, and diversity.
