Greetings from IDF and IFRA!
To achieve Rehab on your Doorstep, IDF and IFRA Will organize the third webinar Via Zoom Link in our series on “Poverty, Hunger and Disability: The Missing Link” on 20th September 2022 from 14:00 – 15:30 GMT.
The objective of the webinar is to highlight the impact and importance of Home-Based and Community-Based Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology Services delivered by Trained Community Workers.
The webinar will be in English with sign language Interpretation ( Indian & International)and also with translation in French, Hindi and Spanish.
The findings and recommendations of two studies — “CBR in India” and “Analysis of WHO Rehab 2030 Call for Action” — will be featured during the webinar.
Community practitioners will present examples of their work from Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of Congo, India and Nepal.
As a new feature, a 45-minute session will be scheduled in October for a follow-up conversation with the presenters to share your experience and to discuss how to implement some of the ideas in your community.
On September 20th, we also plan to launch a Global Advocacy Campaign to influence the World Health Assembly (WHA) Resolution on “Strengthening Rehabilitation in Health Systems” to be adopted in May 2023. We will need your help to ensure the resolution is centered on Home-Based and Community-Based Rehabilitation Services and Assistive Technology delivered by Trained Community Workers.

IFRA is one of the few groups advocating to meet rehabilitation needs of persons with and without disabilities.
Vision:
A World of resilient, inclusive and empowered communities free from poverty for persons with disabilities and other marginalized populations in need of rehabilitation.
Mission:
To bring about lasting positive change for inclusion in community life for persons with disabilities and marginalized populations needing rehabilitation.
