Zambian government moves 6th CBR Africa Conference to Capital City

An official from ZAPD (L)explains government CBR programs to CBR practitioners

The 6th CBR Africa conference will now take place in Lusaka, Zambia. The Conference previously scheduled for Livingstone at Avani Victoria Resort will now be hosted at Intercontinental Hotel, Lusaka, from May 7th-11th 2018.

According to Dr. Abdul Busuulwa, the Executive Director CBR Africa Network (CAN), the decision to shift the conference to the capital city comes after a long discussion with the government of the republic of Zambia.

The new development is meant to increase government commitment, especially guaranteeing participation of high level delegates from government and development partners once the conference is held in the Capital city.

The government position was arrived at in a meeting held on November 23, 2017 between the CAN Executive Director and Zambian government officials including the Minister of Community Development and Social services (MCDSS), several Directors, Heads of department and the Zambian Agency for Persons with Disability.
